The Little Things (Looking back on 2021)
Hey everyone, since there isn’t much time before we all check out for the year and start celebrating with close friends and family, I just wanted to throw some of my optimistic charm out there and give people some things to reflect on before we get into the new year.
For many people (including myself), this wasn’t the year we’d hoped for, once again hit with waves of uncertainty, angst and false hope. It’s tempting to leave 2021 in the dust and focus on a clean slate, but here is something to consider before you do.
Did you learn something new this year?
Did you feel challenged at times throughout the year? This is ok. Growth and change always feel uncomfortable at first; you’ll be better for the experience.
Did you try something new this year?
If you answered ‘yes’ to at least two of the above, then the year wasn’t that bad at all. It’s all about how you frame it. So if you’re feeling burnt out, exhausted, and without a sense of achievement that you’d hoped for, just remember it’s always the little things that, when done consistently, make the most significant difference over time.
